Tenth anniversary edition of the Hankook 24H DUBAI (January 8-10, 2015)

GENNEP (October 23, 2014) – The countdown is running for the tenth anniversary edition of the Hankook 24H DUBAI, the original endurance race for GTs, touring cars and 24H Specials in the Gulf region. From January 8-10, 2015, Dubai Autodrome will again be the venue for what has become the traditional start of the new motor racing year for teams and drivers from all over the world. Next year’s race will be a very special one, because not only it is the tenth running of the event, it will also be the season opener of the six-round 24H SERIES powered by Hankook as an official international series, pending approval by the FIA.

Interest for the race is huge, as the number of almost 90 teams on the provisional entry list reflects. However, last-minute entries to become a part of the international field are still possible. “The character and lay-out of the Dubai Autodrome enables us to accommodate a huge field. Moreover, experience from previous years learns us that there are always some late changes in the entry, so we will do our utmost to ensure that teams who want to race with us can do so. However, they have to act quickly,” emphasizes Gerrie Willems on behalf of CREVENTIC, organisers and promoters of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook in co-operation with the Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT).

One of the elements teams and drivers particularly like about the Hankook 24H DUBAI is that CREVENTIC is taking care of all the logistics. Standard transport of cars and equipment from Rotterdam to Dubai and back is included in the entry fee. Special transport requirements can also be taken into account. Containers will be loaded at the end of November, the return transport arrives early February. CREVENTIC and its official logistics partner Eimskip handle transport, customs and delivery of the containers in the paddock of Dubai Autodrome, where the containers are placed directly behind the pit boxes of the teams. Upon arrival, team members can open the containers and start setting up their pit boxes straight away. Other services CREVENTIC is providing include top-level catering for team members and guests at the track and tailor-made travel packages at various price levels.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the race in style, the traditional ‘Welcome Party’ with barbecue in the paddock of Dubai Autodrome on Wednesday evening will be offered for free to all drivers, team members and guests. There will be a band for live music and around 1,000 guests are expected to start the event in a convivial and international atmosphere.

As usual, there will also be plenty of media coverage for the Hankook 24H DUBAI. Print and online publications from all over the world will have their own reporters and photographers on site. The expert team from Radio Show Limited, the people behind Radio Le Mans, will again provide live commentary. Motors TV will be broadcasting live from Dubai as well while live streaming and live timing are available online throughout the 24 hours. As the official title sponsor and tyre partner of the Hankook 24H DUBAI, premium tyre manufacturer Hankook will supply the tyres for all the participating cars.
